Impunity By Ray Clark Blog Tour Book Review

A huge thank you to Polly at The Book Folks and of course, Ray Clarke for sending me a copy of the brilliant Impunity to read and review for the blog tour!

⭐⭐⭐⭐

Blurb:

A young woman passes out on the streets of a quiet village… unfortunate, but surely not a serious incident. That’s until Yorkshire police discover the terrible truth.

The victim has had her kidneys removed. Inevitably, she doesn’t survive the ordeal.

Who could even think of doing such a thing, let alone carry it out?

That’s what Detective Stewart Gardener and his team will have to determine.

Yet even if the cops find the perpetrator, they’ll be faced with someone who has a trick up their sleeve to escape being held accountable for their actions.

Will a cruel killer once again escape justice?

IMPUNITY is the tenth book in a bestselling series of noir mysteries by Ray Clark featuring DI Stewart Gardener.

My Thoughts:

This is the first book in the DI Stewart Gardener series I have read, and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it! I love a good police procedural thriller, and this certainly did not disappoint.

Maurice Cragg, the desk Sergeant at  Bramfield police station, is settling down for an evening to listen to the play on the radio, when he hears a high pitched noise. When he investigates, he finds a woman lying on the ground behind the station.
Betty Miller appears on the scene to help, but the young woman dies.

When DS Sean Riley and DI Stewart Gardener appear on the scene, it is discovered that the victim is Chloe Harrington. From here we are taken on a journey to discover how and why Chloe was murdered.

This book is filled with great characters, and with a truly unexpected twist at the end, and a really enjoyable, quick paced book. I will definitely venture into the previous nine books in the series. If you love a fast moving investigation, then this is for you!
